Everlast is an American brand active in the design, manufacturing, licensing and marketing of boxing, mixed martial arts and fitness related sporting goods equipment, clothing, footwear, and accessories. Based in Manhattan, Everlast's products are sold in more than 75 countries.
History
In 1910, 17-year-old Jacob Golomb, the son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, was dissatisfied with swimsuits of the time that barely lasted a season, and began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He gave them the name "EVERLAST". Everlast transformed into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment, best known as the major supplier of boxing equipment.
In 1917, the young Jack Dempsey called on Everlast for specialized boxing equipment, resulting in the development of the brand's first boxing headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive training. Everlast evolved into the preeminent brand in the world of boxing and among the most recognized brands in the overall sporting goods and apparel industries.
In 1958, Ben Nadorf purchased 50% of Everlast Sports Mfg. Corp from Daniel Golomb.
In 1995, Ben Nadorf became sole owner of Everlast Sports Mfg. Corp.
In 2000, Active Apparel Group [AAGP] acquired the Everlast brand and boxing equipment.
In 2007 UK-based Brands Holdings acquired Everlast Worldwide.
Based in Manhattan, the Everlast brand is represented in over 75 countries and holds over 65 licensees worldwide.
